Being hyper-aware of a depressive episode doesn’t make it any better

One of the harshest things about depression is it zaps your ability to take joy in what you know brings you purpose and happiness.

You don’t know when it’s going to hit.

And sometimes, despite considerable awareness and effort, you linger in that pit for months.

I get up everyday, but everyday I don’t want to be up.
